I sell my products at the Greenbelt Farmers Market in Greenbelt, Maryland most Sundays, from Mother's Day weekend in May, until the Sunday before Thanksgiving. I will be at the Riverdale Park Farmers Market in Riverdale Park, Maryland on alternate Thursdays of each month, from April through October. We update our Facebook account with last minute announcements - I don't go if heavy rain is expected!
In addition, I am a vendor at Art & Crafts shows throughout the year in Maryland and northern Virginia. My upcoming shows will listed on the calendar page of my website.
We will continue to offer low-cost home delivery to local customers who can't make it to market. This offer extends to everyone in the part of suburban Maryland that is served by our farmers markets (roughly extending from Kensington in the west to Greenbelt and Cheverly in the east, with Riverdale Park and the Route 1 Gateway towns in the middle). My Products
Soap Bars
Good hand-made soap is gentle, long lasting, and a pleasure to use. It cleans your skin without making it feel dry or tight. It also kills bacteria, protecting you from many illnesses.
My soap is made with food-grade oils and plant-derived solid fats combined with a sodium hydroxide solution that transforms the oils into soap and naturally occurring glycerin, while leaving behind a small percentage of extra, protective oil known as "superfat". It is scented with fragrant essential oils and carefully chosen fragrance oils, cut into bars and left to air for many weeks, until the soap bars are hard and mild. Please be reassured that there is no sodium hydroxide (lye) left in my finished soap!
Most of my soap bars include either shea butter or cocoa butter and are made by the traditional cold process method. Some contain goat or coconut milk, dissolved silk, cosmetic clay, exfoliating ingredients, and natural pigments. I hope you will try some and see why my customers prefer my hand-made soap to the store-bought variety of bar or liquid soap.
Some natural colorants and ingredients such as vanilla, red cosmetic clay, and activated charcoal may stain light colored wash cloths. If this is a concern for you, please keep it in mind when ordering and contact Michelle at info@mysticwatersoap.com for more information about specific soap bars.
Face & Body
Most people can use any of my soap bars for general bathing.
If you have especially sensitive skin or are allergic to fragrance, there are four different types of unscented soaps to choose from: Avocado Castile, Simply Salt, Simply Soap (cocoa butter soap) or Unscented 20% Shea Butter. There is also a soap for oily skin made with absorbent bentonite clay, oatmeal, and tea tree oil, and two other soaps made with no butters at all and light blends of essential oils for dry and combination skin.
Hair Care
I make four kinds of palm-oil-free shampoo bars: Original (lavender, rosemary, orange, and ylang ylang), Rosemary Mint (lavender, rosemary, and peppermint), Unscented, and Neem & Tree Tree (lavender, cedarwood, and tea tree).
Solid conditioner bars with Panthenol (Provitamin B5) come in two sizes and I also make an Herbal Hair Oil infused with burdock root, nettle, Brahmi leaf and rosemary, with extra rosemary essential oil to support hair growth.
If you have dry, damaged, or curly hair, you might want to try the new coconut milk and honey hair masque for deep conditioning, with Baobab protein, and Panthenol (Provitamin B). All the ingredients necessary are in the single portion jar, including a shower cap to cover your hair while it works. Just add hot water and whip up your own freshly made conditioning hair masque!
Oils & Perfumes
Mystic Water massage oil is lightly scented and is made with sweet almond oil, light-weight fractionated coconut oil, avocado and jojoba oils. It provides excellent slip and glide for massage and absorbs quickly as an after-bath moisturizer. Mystic Water perfume oils, in glass roll-on bottles, have more concentrated fragrance and are blended with fractionated coconut oil to match many of the most popular soap scents.There are fragrances suitable for women and men.
Note: I use both natural essential oils and phthalate-free fragrance oils to create my massage and perfume oils.

Shaving Products
What makes my shaving soap different from other artisan soaps on the market? My first shaving soap was made for a customer with very sensitive skin, who was allergic to coconut oil. Through research, trial, and error, I created a soap with no coconut oil that still makes an abundant and dense, slippery lather. It offers excellent post-shave feel and skin conditioning and comes in a wide variety of fragrances, but my original Sensitive Skin shave soap is still made with tallow from pasture fed local beef and infused with organic, inflammation-fighting calendula flowers and sea buckthorn oil.

(Custom soap requires 7 weeks lead time, more if I have to procure special fragrances.)

Sadly, the ongoing supply chain problems have prevented me from restocking many wooden and sisal accessories that were sourced from China. If items become available or I find other sources, I will add them to the website.
Novelty Products
For children, I make transparent glycerin soaps with small toys embedded in them: mermaids, goldfish, rubber duckies and frogs. The decorative gravel, seaweed and rocks are also made of soap and they are scented with relaxing lavender essential oil - perfect as part of a bedtime bath routine.
In the summer, I make cooling gel-fulled neck ties to soak in cold water and wear to give relief from the hot weather.
Felted soap balls and hand stitched felted baseball soaps, cast iron mermaid statuettes, soapstone oil burners from India for aromatherapy, abalone shells and white sage smudges, linen sprays and all other things that don't fit into any other category!
